Trip Report

Indefatigable is the first mountain that I climbed as a lead. Steve and I summitted on our first try in the fall of 1999. Indefatigable is usually closed to hikers at least a few times a year because there is a sow grizzly who likes the upper part of the mountain and uses it with her cubs. (Update: The trail is now permanently closed on a voluntary basis. I could see it being closed legally at some point.)

[The mountain as seen from the trail around Upper Kananaskis Lakes.]

[A gorgeous, calm fall day and a glass smooth Upper Kananaskis Lake from the lower ridge.]

[The north bowl and summit.]

[The south summit.]

[Vern and Steve on the south summit.]

[Looking down at the Interlakes parking lot with Lower Kananaskis Lake at left and Upper at right.]

[The descent slope.]
