Colin Haley is an elite alpinist based out of Seattle. He uses words like "easy" and "solo" when talking about Robson's Emperor Ridge (although to be fair he did end up bailing and descending the west face on a 60m 5.5mm rope with a scary rappel incident). In 2014 he visited the Rockies and completed some very interesting ascents including Columbia, Alberta, a solo attempt at Robson and others. While ski touring around base camp in the St. Elias range of Alaska Colin fell into a 45 foot deep crevasse with no rope, harness, crampons or ice ax! I think it's a good time of the year to read what he has to say about this experience and about glacier travel in general.
